The Challenge
Many grocery apps prioritize features over accessibility, making everyday shopping difficult for older adults. Small touch targets, crowded interfaces, and complex navigation often create frustration and reduce user confidence. The challenge was to design an experience that remains powerful while being simple, readable, and easy to navigate for users with diverse accessibility needs.
Results & Impact
The final design improves accessibility through adjustable text sizes, high-contrast themes, simplified navigation, and task-focused user flows. Features such as guided onboarding, personalized accessibility settings, and an emergency assistance function increase usability while promoting independence, confidence, and a more inclusive digital shopping experience.
